A medium consistency asphalt base roof coating composed of refined asphalts, mineral stabilizer and solvent. Complies with CGSB 37-GP-8M. USES As a spray or brush applied coating on asphalt built up roofs. Also used as a general purpose adhesive and repair material with asphalt saturated felts and approved glass cloths. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES COLOUR: BLACK SOLIDS BY VOLUME: 80 % approx. WEIGHT PER GALLON: 10 lbs. (approx.) COVERAGE: 20 sq. ft. per gal. (with gravel, slag, sand) (approx.). DRYING TIME: ***** TOUCH DRY: 4 hours (approx) FIRM DRY: 48 hours (approx) SERVICE TEMPERATURE: 95 C cured (upper limit) APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: Ambient FLAMMABILITY: Wet...Flammable Dry...Burns LIMITATIONS Do not use in contact with Tar base products. Avoid use where solvent odours may taint food or other susceptible products. For ease of application during cold weather, condition product in warm temperature before use. PREPARATION Surface must be free from moisture or frost. Remove all loose, cracked material, dust or dirt. On extremely dry or weathered roofing apply a brush coating of P.B.I. Roof Primer *Asphalt* at approx. 1/2 gal. per 100 sq. ft.. Avoid pooling and allow to dry for a minimum of 4 hours before application of the roof coating. APPLICATION Apply by brush or spray equipment. Apply a coating to all lap seams and nail heads. Then uniformly coat the entire surface at the rate of coverage required. Allow the first coat to dry thoroughly, then apply the second at right angles to the first. CLEAN-UP Use P.B.I. CLEAN-UP. SHELF LIFE Up to 12 months in sealed container. AVAILABILITY 3.78 LTR. 20 LTR 205 LTR BULK - Tanker or Totes CAUTION Contains flammable solvents. Take suitable fire precautions. Do not allow smoking or welding in working area. Keep away from heat and open flame. Use in well ventilated areas. Keep containers covered when not in use.. Avoid prolonged breathing of the vapour and repeated contact with the skin. Harmful if swallowed. |
